PLEASE NOTE: To help prevent the spread of invasive species, we limit our distribution of seeds to within a 12-state region of the Southeast, from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Ocean and from the Gulf of Mexico north to Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland and Delaware. If you live outside this area, we may be able to assist you in locating sources of native seeds within your geographic region.

Botanical Gardens Weed Seeds
Each year, we offer free seed to Garden members (Individual level through Director’s Circle) through our Members’ Seed Distribution Program. We’re excited to return to a choice-based method of seed selection in 2022. Current members may select up to eight packets of seed from 30 available species. Please also select three alternates, as quantities of some species are limited. Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Seed distribution will run through October, or until supplies last.
Explore the available species online here (click on “Common” to sort alphabetically by common name, and click on “detail” to the right of a plant’s photo to read a longer description.)
Many native seeds require a period of cold stratification before they’ll germinate: you can let nature do the work in late fall, or you can start them now by stratifying them in the fridge. Read more in our Growing Instructions.
