Despite the Sativa influence from the Super Sour Diesel strain, I experienced an incredibly soothing body melt.
I came across this particular batch of Banana Diesel on my recent trip to SFVDM in Van Nuys, CA, and immediately knew that I was in for a treat. The flowers were a peculiar shade of green, and dusted with a healthy heaping of powder white trichomes.
The Banana Diesel strain is a hybrid with a star-studded genetic lineage. It is often applauded for its ability to induce some serious relaxation, while relieving the body of any minor aches and pains.
“The Banana Kush strain was crossed with the Super Sour Diesel strain (Super Silver Haze X Sour Diesel) in order to create the Banana Diesel strain.”
With such hybridized genetics, it’s hard to say whether the Banana Kush is more of an Indica, or more of a Sativa. Each phenotype of the Banana Diesel strain will express slightly different characteristics.
“The Banana Diesel strain seemed to put my mind at ease to the point that it was almost entrancing.”
After a short stint of research, I came to the realization that the Banana Diesel strain is a hybrid with a number of classic strains in its lineage. The strain combines the genetics of the Banana Kush, Super Silver Haze, and Sour Diesel strains all in one compact package.
This particular batch of the Banana Diesel strain seemed to lean a bit more towards the Indica-dominant Banana Kush strain.
Judging from the name alone, I knew that I was in for a treat with the Banana Diesel strain. While I assumed that the Sour Diesel strain was a definite part off the equation, I was unsure of where the “banana” came from.
